NBA Thursday Preview & Free Pick

Boston Celtics at Washington Wizards

 Thursday, Feb. 6, 8 p.m. (ET) TNT

VietBet Pointspread: Boston -1.5

VietBet Total Line: 206

 Boston at Washington Game Overview

oston’s straight-up four-game winning streak came to an end on Tuesday night in a 111-91 loss to Toronto as a five-point road underdog. This was the first time that the Celtics failed to cover against the spread in their last seven games and the total has now stayed UNDER VietBet’s closing line in four of their last six contests. Boston falls to 18-8 SU on the road with a 17-9 record ATS.

Tuesday was Boston’s second-biggest loss of the season and it was not even close from the start with the Raptors building a 21-point lead at the half. Terry Rozier led the way in scoring with 18 points and Kyrie Irving added 17 points in the losing cause in his first start in the team’s last four games. Irving continues to lead the Celtics in scoring with 24.7 points per game and he is shooting 48.6 percent from the field. Boston is ranked 25th in the league in scoring with 103.0 PPG.

Washington ran into a hornet’s nest on Tuesday night in Philadelphia with the 76ers taking a page from the football team in town in a 115-102 loss that snapped the Wizards’ recent five-game winning streak both SU and ATS. The total went OVER VietBet’s closing 212-point line in that game and it has gone OVER in five of their last seven games. Washington returns home for Thursday night with a SU record of 17-9 while going 10-16 ATS. The total has gone OVER in four of its last six home games.

The was the Wizards’ first loss since they lost John Wall for an extended amount of time due to bad knee. Bradley Beal scored a game-high 30 points while going 12-for-22 from the field, but he received little help from the rest of a starting lineup that added a combined 38 points in the losing cause. Washington has been one of the top scoring teams in the NBA this season with 107.4 PPG and Wall was a big part of that average with 19.4 points a game.

Boston at Washington Free Game Prediction

Look for Boston to quickly bounce back on Thursday night with a road win both SU and ATS as the Wizards start to feel the pain of losing Wall against the better teams they face.

NBA Wednesday Preview & Free Pick

Indiana Pacers at New Orleans Pelicans

 Wednesday, Feb. 7, 8 p.m. (ET)

BetAnySports Pointspread: New Orleans -3

BetAnySports Total Line: 214

Indiana at New Orleans Game Overview

The Pacers have dropped two of their last three games straight-up and they are just 2-5 against the spread over their last seven outings. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ 211-point line in Monday’s 111-102 loss to Washington as 3.5-point home underdogs and it has gone OVER in four of their last six games. Indiana goes back on the road at 11-14 SU with a 13-12 record ATS.

Injuries are starting to catch up with Indiana heading into this game. Darren Collison will miss a few weeks with a knee issue and Victor Oladipo is still listed as day-to-day on the latest report after missing Monday’s game with an illness. In Oladipo’s absence as the team’s leading scorer (24.0 points), Bojan Bogdanovic led the way on Monday night with 29 points in the losing cause. The Pacers are ranked 11th in the league in scoring with an average of 106.7 points per game.

New Orleans is just 1-4 both SU and ATS in its last five outings after losing to Utah 133-109 as a slight one-point home favorite on Monday night. It has now lost its last three games at home (SU and ATS) since beating Houston on Jan. 26 as a 4.5-point home underdog. The total went OVER BetAnySports’ closing 216-point line against the Jazz and it has gone OVER in three of the Pelicans’ last four games. They are now 14-12 SU (10-15-1 ATS) in 26 home games this season.

The pressure to carry this team is squarely on Anthony Davis’s shoulders after DeMarcus Cousins was lost for the season with a torn Achilles. He scored 15 points with 11 rebounds on Monday night, but the Pelicans got a strong effort from Jrue Holiday on the scoreboard with a game-high 28 points. Davis is averaging 26.8 PPG as part of New Orleans’ scoring average of 110.7 points, which is the fourth-highest total in the NBA.

Indiana at New Orleans Game Prediction

There is still some question about Oladipo’s availability for Wednesday night which might have an impact on the opening betting lines, but I still like New Orleans winning at home and covering ATS at BetAnySports.
